AI labeling

At LACE, we use AI responsibly.

Selected images and videos in our online shop may be created or edited wholly or partly with AI. This content is checked before publication and transparently marked with an AI symbol directly on the image or video.

In short:
When you see the AI symbol at LACE, it means that the image or video has been created or edited wholly or partly with AI. The product itself is still a real item from LACE and is not changed in its essential characteristics.

The product shown is a real item from LACE. It has not been invented by AI, and its essential product characteristics are not changed by AI.

Binding information about price, colour, material, size, fit, details and availability can always be found on the relevant product detail page.

The labelling is carried out as part of the transparency requirements of the EU AI Act.

Frequently asked questions about AI labelling

What does the AI symbol mean?

The AI symbol shows that an image or video has been created or edited wholly or partly with AI.

The content shown may look realistic and may resemble people, places, environments or situations. However, it was not necessarily photographed or filmed exactly in this way.

The product itself is real and is not generated by AI or changed in its essential characteristics.

Are the products I see real?

Yes. All products you can buy at LACE are real items from our assortment.

When an image or video is marked with AI, the label refers to the image or video, not to the item itself.

The product is real. The binding product information can always be found on the relevant product detail page.

When does LACE use the AI symbol?

We use the AI symbol on images and videos that have been created or edited wholly or partly with AI and may therefore look realistic.

This may include, for example:

  • AI-generated models
  • AI-generated backgrounds
  • AI-generated environments
  • AI-generated scenes
  • AI-edited image or video content

The product shown remains a real item from LACE.

Which parts of an image can be created with AI?

AI can be used to create or edit different visual elements in an image or video.

This may include, for example:

  • people or models
  • backgrounds
  • rooms and environments
  • beaches, pools or other locations
  • light and atmosphere
  • styling and inspiration scenes
  • individual visual elements in an image or video

We use AI to present our products in a more inspiring and flexible way. The product itself must not be shown in a misleading way.

Is the product changed by AI?

No. The product is not invented by AI or changed in its essential characteristics.

At LACE, it is especially important that relevant product characteristics are shown correctly. This includes, among other things:

  • colour
  • shape
  • material
  • cut
  • fit
  • details
  • straps
  • closures
  • cup shape
  • support and construction

Especially for bras, swimwear and lingerie, fit, support and material are essential. Therefore, AI must not be used at LACE to make a product look better, different or more unrealistic than it actually is.

Why does LACE use AI?

We use AI to show products in different visual situations.

AI makes it possible to create images and videos faster, more flexibly and more inspiringly. For example, we can show products in different environments, on different model types or in seasonal visual worlds without arranging a new photoshoot every time.

The goal is to provide better inspiration, not to change the product.

Why is AI content labelled?

The label makes it clear when an image or video has been created or edited wholly or partly with AI.

It helps you recognise when an image may look realistic but was not necessarily photographed or filmed exactly in this way.

The labelling is carried out as part of the transparency requirements of the EU AI Act.

Can I rely on the product information?

Yes. The binding information about an item can be found on the relevant product detail page.

This applies especially to:

  • price
  • colour
  • material
  • size
  • fit
  • details
  • washing and care instructions
  • availability

If there are differences between an inspiration image and the information on the product detail page, the information on the product detail page always applies.

Is standard image editing also labelled as AI content?

Standard technical image editing is usually not labelled as AI content.

This may include, for example:

  • cropping
  • brightness adjustment
  • colour correction
  • cut-outs
  • background removal
  • simple retouching
  • technical quality improvement

What matters is whether an image or video has been created or changed with AI in a way that may look realistic and should be recognisable as AI content.

Our principle

AI should improve the shopping experience at LACE, not mislead.

Therefore:

  • AI-generated or AI-edited images and videos are clearly labelled.
  • The product itself is a real item from LACE.
  • Essential product characteristics must not be changed by AI.
  • Product details are checked before publication.
  • The information on the product detail page always applies.
